Latin Mass Community - Lenten Mission at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church

A Lenten Mission with Fr. D. Geddes, FSSP will be held March 21-23, organized by the Sacred Heart of Jesus Latin Mass Community, and held at Our Lady of Our Lady of Czestochowa church, 301 Ave. Y South, Saskatoon.  SCHEDULE:  Thursday, March 21, 2019- 6:00 pm Confessions, 7:00 p.m. Mass followed by talk / Friday, March 22, 2019 -  6:00 p.m. Confessions, 7:00 p.m. Mass followed by talk / Saturday, March 23, 2019-   8:00 a.m. Confessions, 9:00 a.m. Mass followed by talks and devotions , ending at 2:00 p.m. (Bring your own lunch.) This Mission is sponsored  by the Sacred Heart of Jesus Latin Mass community (not the Polish parish), and it will be held at Our Lady of Czestochowa church, 301 Ave. Y South.

Parish Advent Mission - St. Mary's Parish, Saskatoon

Parish Mission - St. Mary’s (Avenue O and 20th Street) is offering a parish mission from March 18 to March 20 at 7:00 pm each evening, led by Bishop Jon Hansen, CSsR. The theme is ‘St. Mary’s, 100 years: A Journey of Faith, Hope and Charity.’ Bishop Jon will speak on one of these topics each evening. Confession offered on March 20 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Priest Discernment Night

  Priest Discernment Night - Tuesday March 19th at 7 pm at St. Anne’s Parish in Saskatoon.  The topic for the evening is “The Blessed Virgin Mary and Discernment Fears.”  The speakers for the evening are Fr. Lenten Parish Mission: Humboldt

* Lenten Mission at St. Augustine, Humboldt - A parish mission about “Eternal Friendship with God,” led by Fr. Peter Ebidero of Martensville will be held March 17-19 at St. Augustine, 809 10th Street, Humboldt. The Lenten Mission begins Sunday, March 17 at 7 p.m., with a session including musical adoration, and continues March 18 with Mass at 6:30 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. talk; and Tuesday, March 19, with 6:30 p.m. Mass, a mission talk, Eucharistic Adoration, and a Lenten penitential service. Child care is available. Fellowship and refreshments every evening. Everyone is welcome.

St. Joseph High School: Musical

St. Joseph High School presents the musical Les Miserables. Performances run Wednesday March 13th to Sunday March 17th. There are 4 evening performances on March 13, 14, 15, and 16 beginning at 7:30 p.m. There are also 2 matinee performances on Saturday March 16 and Sunday March 17 beginning at 2 p.m.  Tickets can be ordered by emailing stjoseph@gscs.ca  or calling 306-659-7675. Tickets can also be purchased at the school, over lunch time, beginning on Monday February 25. People who have purchased tickets by email or phone are asked to pick up their tickets 30 minutes prior to the scheduled showtime. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for high school and elementary students, as well as seniors. Tickets are free for children under the age of 5 years.

Rite of Election - a step in the RCIA journey

The Rite of Election will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Cathedral of the Holy Family, 123 Nelson Road, Saskatoon: Everyone is welcome to this diocesan celebration, with Bishop Mark Hagemoen presiding. The Rite of Election is a step in the RCIA process – the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults – involving those in our diocese who are journeying toward baptism at the Easter Vigil. Bishop Mark Hagemoen will bless the catechumens as they enroll their names in the Book of the Elect and begin a Lenten journey of purification and enlightenment. "This step is called election because the acceptance made by the Church is founded on the election of God, in whose name the Church acts." - RCIA 119  

Martha and Mary Mini-Retreat for Women

Martha and Mary Mini Retreat mornings for women, are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month at St. Paul’s Co-Cathedral, 720 Spadina Cres E, Saskatoon, including Saturday, Jan.12. Coffee starts at 9:15 a.m.; and the retreat runs from 9:30 a.m.to 11:30 a.m., with confession and noon-hour Mass following. All women are welcome to attend. Philosophy in the Community

* Philosophy in the Community free lecture series - “Why Legal Aid Matters for Justice” will be presented by U of S College of Law Professor Sarah Buhler at 7 p.m. March 8 at The Refinery, located at Emmanuel Anglican Church, 609 Dufferin Avenue and 12th St. E., Saskatoon. Publicly-funded legal aid is vitally important in the context of a justice system that disproportionately impact members of marginalized communities. The talk will include some history and background about legal aid programs in Canada, and will show how legal aid can mitigate harm and promote justice for people who find themselves drawn into the system.
